Understanding a golfer's weight transference can provide critical biomechanical feedback, as it helps identify several key factors within the swing, primarily helping produce optimal swing movements, detecting physical restrictions as well as helping reduce injuries.

Typically, longer ball hitters will utilise more of the centre of pressure displacement (weight transference) than shorter hitters. Therefore, by impact their centre of pressure will be closer to the left foot or they will have transferred it over a greater distance from the right side.

Integrated with 3D biomechanical analysis, force plate data can assist the golfer in numerous ways, mainly:

  • Detect how your body's movement impacts on the way your weight/pressure moves during the swing
  • Highlight how efficiently and effectively you transfer your weight during the swing
  • Achieve optimal setup - help achieve correct limb alignment (ankle-knee-hip and shoulder) and fire the key golf muscles which help stabilise and rotate the various body segments during the swing
  • Help reduce injury, as well as isolating physical restrictions
  • Maximise the benefits of ground reaction forces
  • Assist in creating maximum pressure into the ground, helping create compression, lag and increased club head speed
  • Help identify the correct footwear/golf shoe
  • See how stable your body segments are during your swing. This applies to both full swing and putting

Combining 3D analysis with force plate data allows for the ultimate biomechanical swing assessment, helping the golfer achieve even greater efficiency, repeatability and a pain free body.
